MY APPROACH

You may feel you need to talk to someone outside of friends and family about a specific problem or indeed if you are generally feeling low.  Talking to a professional counsellor, who will listen without judgement, can help make sense of what is troubling you.

I work with adults of all ages providing support for a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, bereavement, loss, trauma, addictive behaviour and major life changes like redundancy, retirement and divorce.

My approach to counselling is psychodynamic, taking into account your life experiences and how they relate to your current circumstances. We will work together to help you understand yourself and your challenges and think about changes that might work for you as the unique person you are.

Psychodynamic counselling involves regular weekly sessions and I offer time-limited and open-ended counselling.

Finding the right counsellor for you is an important decision. An initial consultation creates time to think about your needs, how counselling with me might work, and your options. You can find more information about the different types of counselling on the BACP website.
